I can't get that Journey song out of my mind, "Be Good To Yourself," which has kind of become this irritating but effective mantra for me during this little "re-set" time for body and mind. I guess that's because I'm realizing that's what my body and brain both want...in the midst of the onslaught of junk (food and thoughts), frenzy, excess, and all other things unproductive, one sane message is just to remember to "be good to yourself." Sure, not every aspect of the song is a fit for a well-being revolution, but honestly, the refrain itself is enough, methinks.
Enjoy allowing this song permeate your subconscious for the rest of the day...
Runnin' out of self-control
Gettin' close to an overload
Up against a no win situation
Shoulder to shoulder, push and shove
I'm hangin' up my boxin' gloves
I'm ready for a long vacation
Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
Oh be good to yourself
You're walkin' a high wire, caught in a cross fire
Oh be good to yourself
When you can't give no more
They want it all but you gotta say no
I'm turnin' off the noise that makes me crazy
Lookin' back with no regrets
To forgive is to forget
I want a little piece of mind to turn to
Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
Oh be good to yourself
You're walkin' a high wire, caught in a cross fire
Oh be good to yourself
Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
